Jeff Barber
President
Jeff Barber entered into the Auto Auction Industry in June of 1983. Jeff's parents, Zora and Harry Barber, started the auction with the inaugural sale being in June of 1981.
Jeff's prior career included the position as Director of Sales & Marketing for Champion Industries, a leading manufacturer of warewashing equipment in Winston-Salem NC. Prior to Champion, Jeff served in sales, marketing, and service positions with Electronic Dispensers International (EDI) in Reno, NV.
In addition to being the home of Wake Forest University Jeff's Alma Mater, Winston-Salem is also his wife Jean's hometown. Jean has been heavily involved in all of State Line's growth for over four decades, handling financial, insurance, and legal issues on a continuous basis. Her most important task, however, was raising the next generation of the Barber family; Beth, Emily, and Paul now share ownership responsibilities with Jeff as active partners. Beth's husband Mark joined State Line in September of 2021. Oldest daughter Kate is an attorney in Northern VA.
Harry Barber passed away in November 1984. At that time, Jeff became the majority owner, sharing auction ownership with his siblings, Jane Barber and Dale Barber. In the early 1990's Jeff assumed total ownership by purchasing their shares.
